It Is Raining Today

Rating: 4.5

Scanty or plenty
Could be summed up fairly
Discriminating the day's full or measured
With days past adored and cared
Deluge or famine is nature's game
And I lack the ken to perceive the same
Seems scanty when struck with parchedness
And plenty when brimming with affluence
Despite that life goes on
Irrespective of what happens
Entailing a little pain
Or a little joy bestowed upon
Ceaseless it is raining
All through the day and the evening
Stirring memories of rainy day
When darkening the sky
Comes shy yet bounteous cloud
Allaying the fainting earth parched
With feverish thirst
Seem aqueous gifts deep and pure from firmament
Raining down to fill the lap of earth with cheer
As if celestial tears brimming over
To assuage the heart
Of dear earth grief-stricken by love's thirst
Oh little star rain, my dear
What you are, I wonder
Come with cloud with band to melt down over
And go alone in silence humbler
To come back again
When called for to perform by your master arcane
Oh little star I wonder
When beneath your cool showers
Slumber in peace grief-stricken flowers
And the verdant grass comes astir
Oh little star profusely rain down
Until in your life-refreshing nectar I may drown
For my heart is heavy and cloudy today
And I hope to get some rain right away
Joy and pain you may bring concurrently
For in everybody's life comes cloud but for a while
Rain without cloud is implausible
And cloud without rain is futile
