Irish Eyes Are Like Fireflies Poem by Rik Bertrand

Irish Eyes Are Like Fireflies

I have looked into the abyss,
Mystical and true as ones first kiss.
They were the eyes of an Irish queen
And they have taking me into a magical dream

Irish eyes are like Fireflies
Both glow in the midnight skies
They are as lovely as the butterflies
And they are true as they are wise.

Magical dreams, and mystical lights,
Floating through clouds with glorious sights
I was flying through the eyes of Love,
And there was only one thing I was thinking of.

Irish eyes are like Fireflies
Both glow in the midnight skies
They are as lovely as the butterflies
And they are true as they are wise.

Back to reality, I was released from my trance,
I was rocking hard on the floor, trying to somewhat dance.
I turned and looked at the band on stage,
And there was the beauty in a rocking rage.

Irish eyes are like Fireflies
Both glow in the midnight skies
They are as lovely as the butterflies
And they are true as they are wise.

She was truly a queen of hard rock stature,
I wanted to go right on stage and snatch her.
Oh Irish eyes, you have set the world of glow,
You have Irish magic, of this you should know.

Irish eyes are like Fireflies
Both glow in the midnight skies
They are as lovely as the butterflies
And they are true as they are wise.

Play the songs that rock the world
Play so that my life can be unfurled.
Your Irish eyes set me afire,
You are truly a queen for all to desire.

REB (MARCH 2012) because Irish Eyes plays Rock, and I like that…
