Inspiration (Fire) Poem by Alexander Thomas

Inspiration (Fire)

Thou set the air aflame with passion's storm,
As I wast snagged by the rose's thorn,
Cupid's arrow pierced the lonely heart,
And all reality wast split apart,

Fraught - We were bound with the wind,
In defiling our innocence we sinned,
Taut - Our boiling blood did mix,
And fiery eyes did fix,

Sentient orbs in collision course,
Pulled together by a colossal force,
Caught in one another's gravitational draw,
The gazing eye blinded in awe,

Behold! - A cataclysmic smash,
Scattered, Yet pulled together - Fused with a blinding flash,
By a supreme power of divine majesty - Consumed whole,
Annihilated and remade with gilded soul,

Shattered - Before God a great sacrifice,
Proof given at the highest price,
Enlightened - Beyond beauty truth strained,
A noble glory assiduously attained,

But now redeemed - We stand in the light,
Across the world to shine bright,
Ordained - By the angels blessed,
To the world true love confessed,

We must forever seal our love in blood,
From roots groweth old as a tree into sturdy wood,
Dissipate the darkness what torments the mind,
Together continuing to grow a legacy entwined,

Lost - I traversed the rocky sea,
So me thee could truly see,
Found and reunited - The soul coupled will transcend,
And the spliced spirit ascend,

Thou art mine fountain of dreamy essence,
My eruption of heartfelt volcanic yearning,
We art the molten lava forming a new Earth,
But thou art also the cleansing water that washes over,
That dost extinguish my burning pain,
Thou art mine inspiration,
Thou art mine hope,
Thou art mine apogee!

We shed tears so that we may cry,
And grow wings so that we may fly,
We will one day reach the providential sky,
That hangs in the aspect of the overseeing eye.
