Inside Africa Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

Inside Africa

Rating: 4.5

Inside our Africa
There lies an Africa
Barbarism; brutalities; chaos; anarchy; and tyranny
Cursed it from ages
Paucity; poverty; failure; famine; pain; and anguish;
Gargantuan in its rural bosom
Tears raining;
Fears dominating;
And, failure reigning.

Inside this same Africa
Lies another Africa
Civility; peace; democracy; constitutionalism and harmony
Blessed it these few days
Affluence; betterment; buoyancy; relief; and refuge
Swimming in its globally urban haven
Smiles beaming
Hopes showing
And, success glowing

Twin has become Africa
One brother dark, worse and with sinister mind
As that of the devil
Another Brother fair, good and with clear mind
As that of the angel
I fear for this farm
For it needs more inputs
It needs good farmers
And in fact, every hand on board
