They love to join the longer convoys
Move around towns and cities
On those asphalted first-classed roads
And stand on the bigger platforms
To campaign; for votes
They ignore the villages and cottages
They forget the poor, the living blind and deaf
Once in a while they pass by
And even reach ours at night
When we have waited and waited from dawn
Local people don't know GDP
And never understand inflation
The villages are happy when prices of farm produce go up
And government provides free farm equipment
But, they make the changes; I tell you
For it takes few votes to win elections in Ghana
Few, less than a million
They are in the cottages and hamlets
Their votes make the changes, remember Tein constituency
And you do flashy campaigns; praying to win!
Wonderful poem on politics shared on definitely. Wisely drafted and shared poem.10
