Ingrates
For the sunshine glow in youth and age
For the courage and calm devoid of rage
For compassion and help without umbrage
For the wisdom of the venerable sage
For the Almighty's bounties at every stage
For the strength endowed to earn our wage
For the freedom to enjoy outside our cage
We must be grateful for our happy state
And not berate the Lord for our ultimate fate
