Indeed Really: Where Is God? Poem by Rodrig Andrisan

Indeed Really: Where Is God?

I do not go to sleep in the fields,
eyes fixed to the sky,
looking for God in the clouds.
I know HE's not there,
but hiding in your smile,
even if you're far away, thousands of kilometers away.
I'm not going to church to seek HIM through some walls,
because I know that God is in the piece of bread
that we ate it together sometime
and in the wine you brought from the country,
that we drank just like the blood of Christ,
with two mouths, but a single soul.
I do not need to look for HIM anywhere,
the unseen friend of all,
because I've already found HIM in myself, in you
and in the child who will be born from us...
