Inconspicuous Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Inconspicuous

Rating: 2.8

I need love, honour and fame
If you praise me and praise my work
I may have them
Now all the praises that I am showered
Will bring me fame
And all the fame that I am bestowed
Will bring me love
And all the love that with I am adored
Will bring me honour
But all are not without game unfair
And what looks like a fame
Is it a shell game?
Or is it a con game?
To me fame or honour
Is nothing but a bullshit
As everyone is not blessed with a manor
Or their life can achieve feat
The rich and the poor
The brave and the benevolent
All strive for fame
And taste bitter-sweet wine of praise or blame
In some form or shape
Does scandal or shame assault
But fortunate is the man alive or dead
Of whom the least is thought
Or the least is said

I love this poem full of great wisdom as fame is fickle, better to be just ordinary to live life simply and allow our true goodness to make our family and friends happy! Excellent write!

Beautiful poem with great message.... I agree with your write. If we all can write our fate then we can become what we like. Where there is a name, there is defame too. Rise and fall are everywhere. Can anyone decides where one should be? If fate pushes one to water, to survive he learns swimming. Then he started searching for coming up. On the way he gets tempted to rise above everyone. So his greed plays the next role. Unknowingly he starts moving towards next steps. Then he starts hunting for name and fame. He realizes when he falls down. Better would have been as you said in concluding lines, least he should have known to the world. Very thoughtful write. I loved reading it.
