In Your Way Poem by Ryan Muddiman

In Your Way

Rating: 5.0

Another sentiment
Another message sent
Another line no one's
meant to hear

The dark favor of
your occasional kiss
lending momentary bliss-
distance now
too much to bear

You...strange in your way
send me off
with a heart of stone
Faith in my conscience
that I'll love you, alone

You...strange in your way
won't let me too near
Keep me away-right at arms length
Right at arms length,
like a child,
devoted I stay.

Bless me with the present
of your soft word...
The Sun seemed somehow
brighter yesterday...
...when all needed to be quiet
for you to be heard
and your tears tiny
symbols, beacons, clasped-hands,
begging me to stay
