Ryan Muddiman Poems

Lost in my own shadow
I caught, from the corner of my eye
a sliver of light fall across my heel
A sliver the only thing left
...

Another sentiment
Another message sent
Another line no one's
meant to hear
...

How long might an hour be?
When tragic fate, its head gives rise
When ever longing for nights reprise
When bitter winds inhabit thee
...

All my greatest works are stained
with wine or blood or time or pain
with yesterday's song or sad lament
o'er short-time-eternal's lonely bent
...

Sliver

Lost in my own shadow
I caught, from the corner of my eye
a sliver of light fall across my heel
A sliver the only thing left
Its' warmth drew me out
There I stood facing you...me
I had to turn away
to face the silvery stare behind me
You'll still be there when I need you
But it's cold inside
And I can't get lost again
