In Waste Seldom Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

In Waste Seldom

No cause is holier
Than to become soldier
Not men in uniform
But with turban saffron

It is symbol of sacrifice
And country needs promise
From all of us to stand against
Forces that are serving for their own interest

To make country yoke free
We need not flee
But work arms in arms
Without causing any harm

Let them push us or intern
In jail and that shall not concern
Or weaken
Our spirit for earthly heaven

My country shall turn golden sparrow
That shining day we will observe tomorrow
When country shall gain independence
And we all shall rejoice at once

We shall languish indefinitely
And suffer heavily
Yet we shall sing song of freedom
That shall go in waste seldom
