In the light of my lover's mind
All those memories were harmless at the time
But this be mine
And in my mind
It was in me that my lover would confide

So give me hope and give me truth
I see now there was nothing I could do
But if I cannot win
But have nothing to lose
How then can I bring myself to you?

It was in my own mind that I was lost
And it was your love of me that was the cost
I know that images in light have you tossed
But it is to you I will hold on inside my thoughts

Where can I go to get away
From everything that gives me inner pain
And where can I stay
To rid the pain
For it is myself that I have constrained

Oh my dear in the dark you look so confused
But I can lead you to love if you so choose
To follow me and let me guide you through
Together we can take the lies and make them true
