Amare Poem by Pete Rivera

Amare

Rating: 5.0

I notice but I turn
From the glimmer in your eye
And I'm afraid that I'll go blind
If I look
So I quiver and I churn
But I cannot sleep in the night
And receiving all this hatred
Is a risk I willing took

Anger enshrouds me
It is the devil's folly
So pray to the angels, you see
That they may descend
And shield me with their wings
That joy fulfill us once again

I speak, but not woefully
For sadness can harm me no more
And I fear the worst
My pride is my own curse
The demons bring about my plague
But I shall stand for all
And never be afraid
I'll fight and I'll kill
Till with their blood my cloak be stained!

Anger enshrouds me
It is the devil's folly
So pray to the angels, you see
That they may descend
And shield me with their wings
That joy fulfill us once again

My heart aches and pains
As if wine was what I drunk
Or emptied some dull drug to my brain
And no truth will prove it wrong
And I will cry out
Nevermore!
On the Plutonian shore
Where light becomes no more
And I will decide
Where my heart leads me now
You won't know why and how
I follow but I do
It's all up to you
My girl you know the truth
This love I have is only for you

And I refuse to let you go
Like the leaves of the snow
When they fall off the branches
Where they go, nobody knows

Anger enshrouds me
It is the devil's folly
So pray to the angels, you see
That they may descend
And shield me with their wings
That joy fulfill us once again
So pray to the angels, you see
That they may descend
And shield me with their wings
That joy may come once again
