Of the friends who passed the test
Through all of the ups and downs of life
Forever remains so true and right…

You are the sweetest candy on the shelf
A lover’s treat for one’s own self
The warmth or bliss that one felt
Deep within when it starts to melt...

You are the knight in shining armor
Who came along in sweet grandeur
The greatest hero in a child’s fantasy
In exchange of one moment’s ecstasy...

You are the sun beside the pale moonlight
That penetrates the heart’s delight
The full moon in the midday sun
When love has just begun...

You are the beauty and the beast
The life and death of a sacred feast
Whose smiles can tear down apart
The walls and defenses of the heart...

You are the pillar of the strength
In the midst of a failing health
The steady breath of a second life
And the only reason why love is alive...

All of these and more
And everything that you stand for
This is what you are, beyond and above
