If You Don'T Believe In Nothing (Believe In Us) Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

If You Don'T Believe In Nothing (Believe In Us)

I view it is as something special
I look to you as if I found someone
to share my life with forever
What bothered me most about you though
is the questions of past loves
What is key for any relationship to work is trust
And it seems like you are having some major issues
I guess it wouldn't surprise me if you have been hurt
All it takes is one cheating ex to break your heart
And it scars you for life
I should understand that you are just suspicious
of me and my actions
But I never have seemed to mention any of them
I left them in the past and you are my present
It seems odd to me and I would like to know
what you are basing your feelings on
And I'm going to need you to not beat around the bush
Be specific about what is bothering you
Give me a more valid reason for your accusations
There is nothing wrong with the state of our union
So I present you with a spontaneous kiss and a random I love you
Just you try and never forget that
