Stripped Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Stripped

The time is now to reveal
What I've felt for so long
After feeling caged and unhappy
Allow me to introduce myself
Want you to understand that withinside
Was the emptiness of a child who'd cried
Now I found a certain freedom
Ohh I'm Sorry you can't keep me down, Sorry I break your hold
Sorry that when you're around, I don't do as I am told
Sorry if I can't please you, Sorry If I don't want to
I will never hide what I really desire
So there it is, Not pretending, Not influeneced, Not ashamed
Just me.Stripped
Sorry if I ain't to perfection
Sorry If I don't come easy
Sorry If I ain't your reflection
Sorry if you think I'm of difficulty
Sorry I'm not what you've expected
Sorry If i'm not accepted
I won't allow you to break me
Think what you want
So here it is, Not pretending, Not influeneced, Not ashamed
Just me.Stripped
