If I Could Hold Time Poem by J.Lakie Kollie,Jr.

If I Could Hold Time

Rating: 5.0

If I could hold time
I would try to hold the day
You told me you are mine
I would never let it go away

If I could hold time
I would hold all the pleasant days
And forget the ones that brought delays
I would hold tight
With all my might
And never forget the very sight
Though it's still a fight
But it's just alright
Though it seems a crime
I wouldn't care a dime

If I could hold time
I would hold the time
You looked me into the eyes
And said that you are mine

Time slips like gas
For it has now come to pass
The day, though in the past
When I just held you fast

It seems like yesterday
Or not even a complete day
I can still hear you laugh and say
'I will never go away'
Though it seemed to them a crime
But I still don't care a dime
For that day
I 'll never forget
When in the beautiful sunset
You held me like a pet
And in soft words I can't forget
You said these words
I want to quote:
'If loving you is a crime,
I will always be a criminal

If I could hold time
I think I 'ld hold this very time!
