I saw you unexpectedly
At that ice cream shop
On Melrose
You had a
Plain black tee and
Dark denim jeans
That one blistering
Hot Friday afternoon
Had I not
Ordered one more
We would not have
Talked until
My treat melted
Into glistening puddles
If I had the time
To stop
And think long enough
I would play the scene
Over again
And have you sitting
Before me
