I Was Day-Dreaming So Far! Poem by Dr.V.K. Kanniappan

I Was Day-Dreaming So Far!

While I was resting in my room,
After attending a birthday function
Of my grand-daughter, Meka kannika!

The guests were returning to their home town
They assembled in groups to start readily
Waiting to say ‘Good Bye’ to me!

They came in an airplane in which
I am working as a Manager for such
A long period; my friendship is so much!

The airplane is parked after landing
In the vacant land behind my courtyard,
People are watching with eyes fully opened!

It is time to go back to their houses,
We had a bet that I have to operate the plane
Waiting in the street corner for the flight!

I don’t know how to start the engine,
But my grandchildren came into the plane
Asking me to start the plane!

I said I don’t know how to drive the plane
The children said they will help till street corner!
I asked with lot of worry!

Whether chief pilot and copilots will come,
Will they help me for plane landing?
Suddenly I woke up to find….

I was day-dreaming so far!
God saved me from a crash!
Chief pilot took over the charge!
