I'm sorry
I tried
tried to stop you
tried to explain
you looked so sad
so lonely up there
perched on the edge of the building
your eyes almost closed
you were so amazing
a daring guy
a good listener
normally
but today
you were determined
making sure you couldn't hear me screaming
couldn't hear me speak
a word
you whispered
the words lost to the wind
'I loved you'
I screamed and screamed
staring as you fell
you were smiling
and I was crying
You, like no other
never another being to grace the earth
just like you,
none other
and just those words:
'I loved you'
