I Though Globally Poem by Vera Sidhwa

I Though Globally

I Thought Globally

I thought globally today,
And my or my what thoughts came my way.
I wasn't as if I thought fast thoughts.
I wasn't as if I thought not.

But fleeting images of wars gone by,
Hooked my attention to terror gone awry.
I felt the tension of the population,
As they watched war escalating.

I thought globally today,
And I started hard to pray,
But nobody answered one prayer.
Nobody looked my way.

I thought globally today,
As if to say,
I hoped against hope.
I thought globally anyway.
