I Remember You Waving A Small Fan (Refrain Stanza) Poem by Gert Strydom

I Remember You Waving A Small Fan (Refrain Stanza)

(for Annelize)

In church I remember you waving a small fan
to dissipate the heat and I was then a young man
and those thoughts were of you proper and prim
where now I think of you were lights are dim
if you can dance like the Spanish women can
or if you will linger in a slow dance, more a embrace,
that is full of sensuality and has a absolute grace
but I do also remember how your kisses began
to dissipate the heat and I was then a young man.
