I Remember -Mother Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I Remember -Mother

I remember-Mother
Thursday,10th June 2021

I remember distinctly
you were worried daily
about my deteriorating health
more than the wealth

You struggled
to meet the hard-earned bread
and pleaded for work
I have no words to speak for

I know you didn't care for
the scorching sun
or ceaseless pour of rain
you never expressed pain

this selfless quality
earned you recognition universally
even though people didn't treat you equally
your picture stood angelic as motherly

nothing else comes to my mind
to find the character so heavenly
that stands high and even more than the sky's horizon
you always remained my living heaven

I shall refuse the treasure of world
I shall even turn down names of God's told
You shall ever remain my Idol
the living God whenever memory recalled
