I Had Prayed For Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I Had Prayed For

Rating: 5.0

I smiled at sky
But did not feel shy
As I was praying
With open eyes and saying

“Can you not grant me an audience? ”
Just in life time at once
I was requesting almighty
To make appearance and make happy

I was in my teen
But very much keen
To see and enjoy divinity
That was almost felt with infinity

I did not know what god looked like!
But had heard from many to strike
That he is savior and creator of an universe
There was urge within “I must see him at once”

It was simple desire
On my part to explore
I had nothing else to pray
I just asked in honorable way

I could see the stars twinkle
As if were cutting joke on my struggle
I was not ashamed of what was asked
I had prayed for only and staked

', *****` **, *.. Perhaps you know that Moses who had been abeloved Prophet of God also had such urge and request towards God Almighty. In our Holy Book it has been quoted Moses said 'Please become visible to me/appear to me/make an appearance' Upon which God said to Moses 'You will not be able to see me, Moses! ' But Moses insisted. Upon his insistence, God sent an illumination fron His Mighty self towards a great mountain - -upon which, the mountain broke to pieces and in the event Moses himself lost his consciousness. When Moses came to, he went to his wife; and asked her to be careful so as not to see direct in his eyes. He believed that from what had occurred she may become blind. There are more details to this.We have been taught to find Praise for our Creator in His creation, because we as common folk will not be able to perceive God; Moses who being a Prophet spoke to God even he wasn't able to perceive but a tiny fraction of the Radiance that God let Moses see and that was enough to wreak havoc. Thank you for sharing your youth innocent desire.
