I Had Shied Away Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I Had Shied Away

The destiny is shaped well in advance
If is just chance
That we meet only once
To form permanent alliance

The question does not arise
But surprise
To us and many
That it was wish of an almighty

The sea was with us
With waves reminding trust
It formed our faith
And we promised hand till death

The wind threw us back
By few steps to stake
Claim on ground
The space newly found

You held me firmly
Like family
To remind me really
It was so simple but silly

I had shied away
But had found way
To face it bravely
And smilingly

Years have passed by
I recollect and try
To remember about what had happened
That day had bright shining sun
