Human Sacrifices (Rituals)
They are mentioned in the Rig Veda and Soma Mandala,
Which is a praise with some energizing qualities,
An old ritual of drink and an asthma treatment.
Moreover, we find these sacrifices in the Persian culture.
Ephedra Sinica containing ephedrine is a Soma plant
Used as a drink in the Vedic and Zoroastrian traditions.
'The building up of the fireplace performed over-night'
Is Atiratra Agnicayana, a ritual of the Vedic religion.
The Ayurveda Samhitas mantras are written in Brahmana.
They describe the bird altars that some hard works require.
With shapes like Mahavedi, Uttaravedi, Dhishnya, and Drona
In the Vedic religion, this altar has a sacrificial fire.
Adhvaradhishnya is another altar used for the sacrifice.
Yajña is a bloody ritual derived from the Vedic times.
They burn people in the fire for divineness to reach.
The temple rites are Agamic rituals using some rhymes.
A division of the Hindu scripture is the Karma-Kanda.
The famous Shrauta Brahmins maintain the ancient rituals.
Some of them perform the Agnihotra and the Aupasana.
The fire sacrifice is made twice daily, at dawn and dusk.
Shakti means the cosmic existence and the divine power.
She manifests through fertility and embodiment.
For the men, Shakti also means 'The Great Divine Mother'.
The sacrifice is carried out with her, who's there present.
After her husband's death, Sati self-immolates on his pyre
To guarantee a reunion in the afterlife. The Indians say
Sati is released from the cycle of rebirth through fire.
These sacrifices for the religious reasons still exist today.
In Genesis, Abraham prepared to sacrifice his son to our Lord.
He climbed with his son a mountain, and an altar he built.
While putting his son on the altar, he used a knife without words,
But God told him 'twas a faith test to be conscious of guilt.
Jephthah prayed to God; over the Ammonites the victory he inquired,
While saying that the first person coming out without his demand
To greet him for the triumph had to die for God as a burnt offer.
''You shall be fuel for the fire, your blood shall flow throughout the land.
You shall not be remembered, for I, the LORD, have spoken.''-this is His command.

well written, well studied... sometimes i think that those of us who feel the most are sacrifices on the very fires of humanity, as are the countless children lost to our apathetic wars... love the Shakti imagery!

Just a few words I feel to say, detail discussion will consume many bytes. [1] Hon’ble has made extensive search and research on Vedic wisdom [2] Regarding Sati Cult it is self-sacrificial… well it is a kind of suicide…well there is no approval of suicide in Vedic scripture…but on one condition one can shed of this mortal body [not suicide] when one has dissected out body from Atman [Awakened or Enlightened who are] I doubt very much on this point whether is Sati Awakened to the said limit…so Sati cult to many others seems like a sacrificial consecration factually what is not. [3] Regarding Shakti [The Power House of Force nay Energy ~ Omnipresent Omnipervading which runs and rules the Universe. It’s the evoluted state of Brahman and when Pralaya [Cataclysm] will come Shakti will involute into Absolute state. A writing inspires to touch the expanded life of mysterious past. Implementing such rituals perhaps the ancient intellectuals wanted to give us message of sacrificing ourselves from body to soul. From outer reality to an inner one where there is no differences of colours and creeds, havs and have nots, Even no difference between life and death also. i read some of the comments below. the poem is a bit over my head maybe, in part, because of all the foreign names and other things unfamiliar to me. (i'm an american by birth and choice and of anglo lineage...but NOT royal) . i DID wonder about the use of the word sacrifice in poem. i see t; hat one long comment deals somewhat with sacrifice vs. suicide or self-sacrifice. thanks for sharing anyway...both the poet and the readers.
