Hourglass Poem by Pradip Saikia

Hourglass

Leaving an antique rupee coin in the coffer
Mother went away

It has been
Six days
Six nights

To build a sandcastle
On the shore

The eyes of the owl dances
Like the hands of a clock

Our empty stomachs

The shadow of the hourglass
On our faces
