The Ancient Face Poem by Pradip Saikia

The Ancient Face

What are you chasing

The illusive golden deer
The drifting flame
Wind
Light
Gloom
Dream

Attained
What you lost

You searched for yourself
You have been looking for yourself
You have lost yourself

What is there
Love
Landscape
Sufferings
Unending emptiness

In a mirror shattered into hundreds of pieces
You are searching yourself

On your uncovered desolate chest
There is that voiceless hand

You are groping for
Shadow
Fire
Darkness
Dream
Your ancient face is
Shattered into hundred pieces
