Hot Water Poem by David Harris

Hot Water

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes we get in hot water
over things we say inadvertently.
You’ll say something with a double meaning
and you can bet your bottom dollar
someone will take it the wrong way.
Your name will be mud
and you’ll be in hot water again
over things you say.
They either throw mud in your face
or laugh until their socks fall off.

I guess that's where the 'think before you speak' comes in. It is very embarrassing when that happens. I have a friend who does it constantly and sometimes it hurts others but we have to reassure ourselves she doesn't mean to hurt, she just doesn't think before she speaks. It happens but we must learn to get over these things. Nice write David, a good reminder. Melvina

I certainly have never laughed until my socks have fallen off. How does one do that, it sounds fun. Something written here that is so true to life. Why do we always take things the wrong way, we always seem to look for the bad in everyone. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
