Just Beyond The Sunset

Just beyond the sunset
Someone waits for me
Just beyond the sunset
Lies my destiny
Where the purple mountains
Lie in deep tranquillity
There I’ll find the treasure
Of love eternally

Just beyond the sunset
Waits someone so fair
Just beyond the sunset
All alone they wait there
Their hair is golden
The colour of the sand
Their eyes sparkle in the night
Like diamonds in your hand

Just beyond the sunset
Lies a home for me
Where the world is peaceful
Like a paradise should be
Just beyond the sunset
Someday is where you’ll find me

    Just over that golden meadow
    Passed that mountain top
I wish to be your neighbor
So we can chat a lot!

    Just beyond the purple sunset
There is a place where the sun sets no more
Where spring is always permanently set
And we find our near and dear seperated nomore......

Just beyond the sunset is rather like the space beyond the breath - a place where the real and the imagined coalesce and creativity blossoms. A glorious image. No wonder you've reached the top 500. Congratulations. love, Allie xxxx (Report) Reply

First of all I have to say...I'm a sucker for rhyme because that is what I do...so this piece really speaks to me...but on so many more levels....your words paint a path to that perfect place where I would love to be...it brings tears to my eyes because your words are so deep and alluring..... bringing me through many emotions all at once...I can see why it is in the top 500...so well deserved...I'm glad I got to read it again...now going into my faves.....hugs lil sis (Report) Reply

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
