His Touch Poem by Danusha Marie

His Touch

Rating: 5.0

Lightening does strike twice
Perhaps for me it shall strike thrice
For the unknown is vast and wide
And my heart, for only so long can hide

My jaded varnish may be fading
A new sense of potential, instead radiating
To be alone with my passions is fine
But he touched my hand and I lost time

For what shone itself in that split of a moment
Looked like a shadow to the end of heart’s torment
Could, should one be open and hopeful
To a vision exposed in a touch so mindful

Unwittingly vulnerable to the charms of a man
The exchange of energy through his touch of my hand
Could, should I dare to trust the impulse
Of a rushing sensation, be it only lust

It’s the most I’ve felt, truly felt at my core
Since years have passed, my solitude no bore
Yet part of me has been closed and sealed
Only through his single touch was it revealed
