Broken Heart Poem by Danusha Marie

Broken Heart

Rating: 4.5

A broken heart is tender
A bruise upon the soul
Wounded by a lover
Who failed his only role

Every melody a memory
A reminder of the pain
The days bring no sunshine
Only sorrow’s drenching rain

The love you once treasured
Now a hole in your heart
He said this was forever
You never thought you’d part

Betrayal is a bitter pill
Poison to your spirit
Despair ubiquitous
Life without hope in it

Tears flow without control
At inconvenient times
While distance was growing
You missed all the signs

Then one day there’s another
Who fits you like a glove
You’ll risk it all again
For nothing is better than love
