I woke up at the edge
Of life today
I could see my path
And where I strayed

My past was clumsy
Eager to please
All those around me
Yet not with ease

Stranded I stood
Alone and lost
Forgetting self-love
At such a cost

What good was sacrifice
Always a chore
Giving to others
Made me a bore

A new path is paved
With lessons learned
To give to myself
What I’ve earned

No longer lonely or weak
I see the way
Since I woke up at the edge
Of life today
