Ballerina Tomboy Poem by Danusha Marie

Ballerina Tomboy

She moved across the stage
Toes pointed
Arms gracefully extended
Each movement telling her story
Anticipation grows
For the turn of the page
She extends her leg
Beyond sublime
Turns her head
The spin begins
Such dizzying speed
Perfection
A leap of faith
A flying feat
A bird with wings
Reaching flight breathtaking
Her delicate fingers
Posed with grace
Hypnotizingly fragile
Yet underneath
Such indelible strength
A silent voice through
Movement speaks
Expressing the joy
Of this ballerina tomboy
