Hide Poem by Amanda Deupree

Hide

There's a darkened and abandoned place
Deep inside her soul
It's a hidden and a sacred face
In her heart's black hole

There are pains and miseries
Hidden safely there
All her darkest memories
Stashed away with care

She hides these things away
From all who dare to see
She smiles through each day
Just trying not to flee

There's a dark and lonely place
That only she can know
There's a secret crying face
She's too afraid to show

If they knew the pain and trial
Would they love her still
If they had to walk her mile
Would they care to feel

Her darkened and abandoned place
Lies eating away her dreams
As she tries to make a case
To keep life as it seems
