These words of encouragement
Are supposed to heal
But nothing I can say
Can ever fix what you feel

I wish that I could turn back time
And stop what happened before the start
But nothing I can do
Will ever fix your black and blue heart

I want to help you through this
To make the pain and suffering end
I wish we could have been better
You were always my dearest friend

At first I wondered
Why every day you would run in fright
But soon I began to realize
It was because he was in sight

If I could start things over
To the tragic day
I would be a guardian angel on your shoulder
