Help Me Poem by Edwina Reizer

Help Me

She hid the bottle
and the drugs.
Hid it all
underneath the rugs.
She could not stop.
She tried so hard.
She was always fearful,
always on guard.
But she could not hide
the signs that showed,
the shakes that came,
the tears that flowed.
How had it started?
She'd lost her guy.
All alone
she thought she'd die.

She hid the bottle
and the drugs.
No more contentment,
no more hugs.
She did not care
just how she looked.
She hid herself
for she was hooked.
'Someone find me.
Help me please.'
She prayed to God
down on her knees.
'Help me.'
