He Hurt Me Poem by Patricia Kelley

He Hurt Me

Rating: 3.0

was born as a gifted child.
I had someone that I lived with that regretted the day I was born.
He made my life miserable as a child.
At the age of six-years-old, before I entered the first grade, he scared me into a running car.
I had a broken femur from that car.
I had to crawl everywhere as a healing broken child.
While my older brother would spit on me between his teeth to see how far he could spit on a crawling broken child.
He targeted me as a child.
At the age of seven-years-old, he let his friend touch me and steal my innocence as a child.
He threatened my life as a child.
He touched me and abused me repeatedly as a child.
It continued until he was nineteen-years-old, and I was fourteen-years-old. Sadly, this was the kind of big brother I had who stole my childhood innocence. So I will stand up for every mistreated child.
