Have A Good Life Poem by Randy McClave

Have A Good Life

My heart is now broken
By the words she had spoken,
All that I can now think or do
Is say, how could you.
I had imagined us as one
But, now that dream is gone,
But, now that is okay
My pain it will pass someday.
I wanted someone who was devoted
As the Bible had noted,
Someone to be my spouse
Someone to share my soul and house.
To be mine from now unto the end
To be my very best friend,
The woman whom I had waited to marry
Now, alone I will tarry.
I don't lie and I don't cheat
People I don't abuse or ever mistreat,
And of no one am I ever ashamed
"I love you", I had proclaimed.
A good woman is hard to find
As the Bible had defined,
I thought I found the woman who did belong
But, I was fooled and I was wrong.
I was going to ask her to marry me
From now to eternity,
I wanted her as my wife
Now, I just hope she has a good life.
