Having A Mom Poem by Randy McClave

Having A Mom

Though a woman might treat you all wrong
She might refuse to be at your side,
And with you she might not want to get along
And your feelings you must now hide.
A woman many times are hard to explain
Truer words have never been spoke,
Sometimes they nourish anguish and pain
And the bear they enjoy to always ridicule and poke.
She might now want to walk a different path
Because she thinks the grass over there is greener,
And then you feel her wrath
As she becomes solitude and also meaner.
She blames all of her problems on you
And of course you don't know what she's talking about,
You have been honest and caring and true
While she'll scream and accuse and pout.
Of course you will want to talk
And all she wants to do is cry and walk away,
That's her defense mechanism while she'll gawk
As she has prepared herself for this one special day.
She'll pack up her bags and belongings and leave
And most likely you won't see her ever again,
Then a breath of fresh air you will finally breathe
You're no longer constrained by a promise or by lust or sin.
You might now think that you have lost it all
But, brother please sit down, relax and be calm,
Don't ever beat your head against a wall
Because, you still have your mom.
