God And The Gas Pumps...........[religion; Creation; Short]

Rating: 5.0

Now I'll bet God never pumped gas into a car, nor did He check the oil.
It's hard to believe He ever worked at any gas station doing manual toil.
And yet I've thought of a link that binds gas pumps and the Man Above.
The same Guy who sent the flood to Noah. Noah's the one who sent out a dove.

It matters not whether you believe the Earth is billions of years or only thousands of years old.
In church, as a boy, I learned God made all things. That's what I was told.
He was all-powerful according to the minister. He didn't need long to make stuff.
He could have put pools of oil underground and waited patiently, sitting on His duff, .......(take any dictionary definition of "duff" you please) ...to see how long it would take for parrots, or wolves, or men to pump it out.
Or he could have let Nature form petroleum from decayed fragile grasses and trees most stout.

So remember...., your electricity at home may come from wind or solar power or coal.....,
but most of your cars run with gas created SOME HOW by God, the Guy who gave YOU a soul.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
WELL i must confess. i haven't believed in the existence of God since early in college.....see what college will do for ya? ? BUT i am an agnostic type of atheist, SO i believe 'anything' may be the truth. i believe in Evolution but i DO believe that perhaps there is/was a Supreme Being Who created everything, and if He/She/It could have done THAT, then so what if it was done one way or the other?
every once in a while i look at a beautiful or 'ugly' TINY creature [see my short poem 'Six Legs etc.'] and WONDER (in more ways than one) .

Very original! I wonder what made you think of this? Well, I think if I had been sitting in your church, I would also have been put off the idea of God. So many distorted teachings, not Biblical at all. Do you know that agnostic means no knowledge. Such people say that God is either unknown or unknowable. To me it means that a person has a lack of accurate knowledge, or completely incorrect knowledge that leads to disbelief. Agnosticism can be a place where sincere people sit, or it can be a very convenient place to sit which frees one from accountability and the implications of recognising the existence of a known Creator.

Sorry Loke Kok Yee, I disagree with you. I think there are two types of lives on this planet. One is the naturally evolved life and the other are humans with our DNA modified by someone. Who is that someone, is he another toy whose DNA was modified by another someone. Is it a cycle having no beginning and no end. Who knows? But there is no harm in thinking and making a belief. The precautionary measure is that we should not try to impose our thinking and beliefs on others. Otherwise, what's going on in the world everybody knows.

Bri, No buts Bri; I am afraid you will have to make up your mind You can't be an agnostic and and atheist at the same time It's either evolution or creation and both is a crime Come the day of judgement, and it looks like you may be left behind! ! Bro.
