Go West Young Girl, Go West Poem by Edwina Reizer

Go West Young Girl, Go West

Somewhere in the western sky
the stars are brighter way up high.
Is it because that's where you are?
I wish that I could see that far.

My vision stops right o'er my head
but my thoughts of you are there instead.
They travel to the place you'd be
and all the stars would shine for me.

I am here and you are there.
There is no time for us to share.
But a lover's memory stays around
and beckons me. I hear its sound.

It says, ' Go west my girl.
It's not so far.
It's much too lonely with just the stars.
And what will happen if I stay?
Will all the stars just fade away
because they sense we are lonely?
