Glow-Worm Poem by Mark Heathcote

Glow-Worm

Does a glow-worm wander the moon?
Circle it and spin its small cocoon,
yes, parts look almost moth-eaten,
like a broken heart, one-side dark.

And it's-sure-not a paradise of Eden
'but for a glow-worm, that little spark
walking the moon surely feels like freedom,
freedom still not delivered a moment too soon.'
