Gate Poem Poem by Ryan Brodesser

Gate Poem

This is my house, my humble abode

a simple affair, set down the road

my house is open to all who enter these gates

with open arms welcome, to come without fears or hates

so come if you're lonely, come if you're sad

come if you're gay in spirit, highly clad

come, as an old friend with family in tow

come in to share a meal in front of the fires homely glow

and after, we can sleep away the day of old

good food, warm and safe with plenty in the hold

come no matter where or how far

my home is open to whomever you are
