Farewell, Ship. Poem by Ryan Brodesser

Farewell, Ship.

1. Farewell sweet ship drifting down to the floor
2. Be comforted by my song
3. For if ever I die, on the sea
4. Perhaps you and I could sail some more
5. Drift down to the bottom
6. To your eternal sleep
7. Flying your banners and flags proudly
8. To explore the hidden and unknown deep.
9. This journey you make unmanned and alone
10. I will miss you when you fall the waves to slepep
11. Where no sun has ever shone.

12. Sail on, sail on
13. with the other ships lost on ocean tide
14. Ships silent and lost on the ocean depths
15. Yet manned by the sailors who have died.
16. When you reach the place where you are fated to stay
17. Lost on the floor of the ocean’s sandy floors
18. Mayhaps I will find you again
19.after leaving the seas watery doors
20. if you ever you visit, do so,
21. by washing up unto the shores!
