Fleeting Happiness Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Fleeting Happiness

When happiness is lost we grieve and wail
Sorrowing for souls met and loved
Remembering lands travelled and adventures
Sharing joys, sorrows, supporting, encouraging
Facing the day with hope and resolution
Seeking the promised land of milk and honey
Dedicated followers of the carpenter from Nazareth,
Crucified, crowned with thorns, died then risen.
Happiness is never fully appreciated until lost
When tears fall and heart grieves for what had been.
People move questioning between birth and death
Time passing swiftly and hard pressing the days.
Happiness is fleeting making the heart yearn for it
Again delighting in company with those we love.
