Fixed In Time And Space Poem by SARIKA GOYAL BANSAL

Fixed In Time And Space

Fixed in Time and Space
‘We won't meet again',
I stood rooted
Fixed like a tree
At the periphery of the park
In that silent corner
Where he promised to show respect

The soothing words
The blameless spark in his eyes
Made me blossom
The pink petals flew high in the air
Mocking at the brown earth beneath
Suspended in ecstasy
Bathed in the shower of love
Knew no fear, no pain

The contemptuous look
Through the corners of eyes
The haughty walk
The shoulder shrug made me wither
The bark fell into pieces
Crackled went my stems
The leaves were shed
None could have gathered the woes
Spread like a litter of dead thoughts

I looked at the almighty
When will thy gentle rain drop?
To replenish my lost vigour
To make me succulent and green
How can you asketh?
You brought your own doom
Surrendered your mobility
Why do you scream?

Get entombed at this place
Pass the message on
Beware of steady glances
Someone is working gloom
Don't forget to shelter
The birds at dusk
There may lie buried
The sorrows deeper than thy breast
