Had gone too far out in the wilderness,
Just to get lost on my way back home.
Running breathless, facing the darkness alone,
In search of a life, I dug up my own doom.
………………………………………………………
He had a charming smile,
That masked his cruel intention,
Dreaminess in his eyes,
He got spells under his possession.
With a desire to get burned,
I followed his graceful steps,
He lured me into his lair,
Where I saw him in his true shapes.
He was so angelic a demon,
So much I feared him to go near,
Helpless I fell into his hands,
I let him spoil me with pain and desire.
He drank from my vital,
Filling me with acute pleasure,
He touched my body, penetrating my soul,
Unfolded me like a hidden treasure.
Puzzled by his wicked majesty,
I cursed every moment I passed without him,
He personified my darkest passion,
And I became toy in his devious scheme.
I wanted to run away from him,
But always ended up in him arms,
All my roads met his paths,
All my escapes guarded by his charms.
Sure, he was my road to hell,
While I saw heaven into his eyes,
So, I dammed my soul for an eternity,
And he brought few smiles for my cries
Good verse. You may like to read my poem, Love and Lust. Thanks
A beautiful rhetorical poem - great lines. Work of an active imagination, well conceived and elegantly brought forth. Thanks for sharing Rehnuma.
I wanted to run away from him, But always ended up in him arms, All my roads met his paths, All my escapes guarded by his charms. Imaginative, as if the devil caught me, he was around. Thank you.
Hi Rehnuma, A profound expression of desire and of course, repentance... The rhyme, the words... Loved reading....
Very compelling and poignant poem. Submitting to our desires and passions even when our soul is dammned....it's a naked submission of our fallibility expressed with such a wonderful flow and rhythm. Liked your poems.
