Evermore (Donny And Amy) Poem by William Cavanagh

Evermore (Donny And Amy)

When Mother Nature’s calling
And my mortality rings clear
Voices I would aspire to hear
Of those to whom I hold dear

At my last precious moment
I choose to see before me
The treasured time I have spent
Near my daughter and my son

Knowing anon nothing flat
I surely was the chosen one
The many nights spent laughing
Long daylight’s eternal fun

Abstain from contemplation
I bequest each and every one
Eternal gratification
You’re my daughter and my son
