Even when the sun is high,
Even when I try and try
I can't get warm or see my way
to take a walk on any day.
‘Cause I need to feel your hand again,
to feel the warmth just like when
you were here with me
even then.

Even when the moon is high,
Even when I try and try
can't see the glow ‘cause all I know
is darkness now each place I go
‘Cause I need to see your eyes again
to make things shine just like when
you were here with me
even then.


*** So what's the use? There's no excuse.
I must move on and turn you loose.
These chains that bind my mind to you
have made it hard to find anew
the light from both the sun and the moon.
And even though I know that it's there
And even though I know not where you are
even now.
